Tomorrow I Will Be Better

I’m trying my best to leave the house

But we haven’t left the couch

I’m trying real hard not to drink

When every excuse is a reason it’s okay

Sunlight feeds the plant you gave me

Mother’s Day when you were three

Later we will play board games

Make dinner as the light fades to gray

And think about the next day

And the next

And the next I will be better

I will be better

The level of difficulty

The level of failure

The heartbeats and the shaking hands

And all you want to do is watch video games on YouTube

Tomorrow I will be better
